About Us

About 1.6 billion prescriptions are written every year in the United States. Only 50% of patients who suffer from chronic diseases are medication compliant. The greatest decline in adherence is in the first six months. One study tracking statin prescription refills in 4,802 patients determined that, on average, patients were missing at least 20% of their doses. Non-compliance saddles employers, government and pharmaceutical sectors with $100 billion in direct costs.

Compliance for LifeTM was developed by iReminder, LLC, a healthcare technology company. It is an automated notification system designed to improve medication compliance and persistence. Research shows that the vast majority of people want to take their medication but, given their busy lives, chronic conditions, and complex regimens, they simply forget to do so. We believe that self-reminders and reminders from family members and trusted caregivers are the most effective means of improving compliance rates.

Compliance for Life complements other reminder systems, including nurse call centers, prescription refill notices, wearable devices and healthcare incentive programs. It is an effective compliance tool for Baby Boomers taking care of themselves or their elderly parents, older adults in independent living situations, parents taking care of an ill child, and individuals managing acute or chronic illness.

Studies show that the most effective reminders are those that are the least disruptive to the patient and require minimal behavior modification. Compliance for Life enables individuals to use the telephone or the Internet to set up and receive medication and refill reminders, regimen instructions, and educational messages. With our “anytime, anywhere” system, individuals can set up reminders for themselves or loved ones as soon as a new prescription is filled, for prescriptions they already have, and for medical provider appointments and receive those reminders wherever there is a phone or Internet access.

Users can set up a delivery sequence for each reminder (e.g., "Try calling me at home three times, then try my cell phone twice, and then send me an email.") If the intended recipient never responds to the reminder, a pre-designated back-up person could be alerted.

Compliance for Life conforms to HIPPA regulations. It is a 100% opt-in system. To ensure security and eliminate unwanted reminders, all contacts - users, family members, and caregivers - must agree to accept reminders and confirmations.

Mission

Our mission is to increase compliance and persistence rates with prescribed medications taken for occasional, acute or chronic illnesses. To that end, we have created a simple and user-friendly reminder system for patients, family members, and caregivers who oversee their care.

Key Features

With Compliance for Life, users can:
  • Create, edit and cancel reminders by telephone or online.
  • Record the reminder in the patient’s or a loved one’s voice.
  • Set a delivery sequence.
  • Receive reminders via phone, email or text message.
  • Select a contact person who will be alerted if the reminder is not received or the recipient cannot comply with reminder.
  • Receive medication regimen instructions and educational messages.
  • Broadcast messages to multiple members of a users "network."

Business Model

Compliance for Life is licensed to corporations, non-profits, organizations and governmental bodies that, in turn, provide the system to their constituents on an opt-in basis. We host the technology on our own servers as an Application Service Provider (ASP) solution or license it to companies that want to integrate the Compliance for Life technology within their own system and private label the application.
